Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused engineer to serve as the primary technical and relationship contact for our key accounts.

In this part-time role, you will wear many hats — from managing invoicing and keeping an eye on our books together with our bookkeeping agency, to supporting HR processes, research, and marketing activities. You’ll coordinate events, maintain efficient systems, and ensure our executives are free to focus on strategy and growth. This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same: one day you may be preparing briefing materials for an investor meeting, the next you may be streamlining internal processes or organizing a team event. WHAT WE DO

UpCircle.ai builds real-time monitoring tools for recyclers. We help plants all over Europe see what’s in their waste before it hits the line.

UpCircle is revolutionizing the recycling industry bringing cutting-edge AI to where it matters most. Our AI tools  are used everywhere throughout recycling plants. We’re growing fast and we need help.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

🎯 Own the post-sales relationship for assigned accounts, serving as the primary technical contact.

🎯 Manage project milestones and timelines in customer projects, for smooth deployments that meet and exceed expectations.

🎯 Deliver on-site and remote service — from setup and configuration to performance and troubleshooting. When our customers want to talk, you will be the first point of contact.

🎯 Run engaging onboarding and training sessions that empower customers to get maximum value from our solutions. You help them get the most out of what we offer.

🎯 Spot adoption barriers early and work with engineering to resolve issues before they impact customer success.

🎯 Contribute to the creation of onboarding and training resources

🎯 Collect structured customer feedback and translate it into clear product improvement recommendations.

🎯 Collect customer referrals through an intense focus on customer value and retention.

🎯 Look at the product from a client perspective and contribute to QA activities with pilot accounts, ensuring new releases are market-ready.

🎯 Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, thus closely monitoring evolving customer needs and actively collaborating with sales to grow account value.

🎯 Help tell customer success stories — contributing to case studies, references, and marketing assets.

🎯 Represent UpCircle in the field — mainly at customer sites, join industry events and also trade shows.

REQUIREMENTS

✅ Bachelor’s/Masters degree in an engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

✅ 3+ years of hands-on experience in a customer-facing technical role

✅ Strong communication skills, understanding of software or hardware systems, with the ability to frame technical concepts to non-technical audiences in an easy-to-grasp manner.

✅ Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup environment

✅ Proven track record of managing projects

✅ Excellent troubleshooting skills with a structured, problem-solving mindset.

✅ Strong presentation, training, and interpersonal communication skills.

✅ A strong self-motivation to travel to customer sites across Switzerland and internationally when needed.

✅ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English

✅ Knowledge of the paper industry/recycling industry or process engineering industry is a big plus
